How to Get Things Done in Front of the Television...

I made some jewelry and a scarf while watching The Godfather...l &ll. It's amazing what you can get done when your version of the film has no subtitles and half of the film is in Italian. hmmm I can't tell you what happened, although something tells me that even if it were in English, I would still have no idea...I'm one of those fun-to-watch-movies-with type of people who is constantly saying 'wait, now who is this guy, what just happened, why did he do that.' fun for all!

Egging you On...

Being as we're so far away from home, we try to buy our christmas presents online and have them sent ahead of us so that we're not stuck traveling with everything. Erik and I got an amazing amount of shopping done yesterday. However, I'm still searching... I think this is a great gift for someone with a hankering for countertop gardening. Available at The Curiosity Shoppe, they also have many other great ideas...
fun brooches...

lovely necklaces..

and adorable, sew your own snails kits...

Konrad and I found and scanned this photo while we were in London. My great grandmother is sitting on the left. I love everything about this photo...

Thursday Again...

Last night I dreamt it was snowing...enormous flakes of snow. Like mini snow balls. Alas, upon waking this morning...not a snowman in sight. Piddles.

Poppies and Stripes

If I were close to a meadow of poppies, I'd bring along my stripey socks. But as I'm not, I won't.

Let's Go on a Journey...

I'll bring you into Tel Aviv and we'll walk around the winding alleys of Neve Tzedek...

Afterwards, we'll stop in a wine bar for some people watching...

all for a perfect day...

November 11th!

Happy Birthday Sheila! To the best mother anyone could possibly have. If I could, I'd give you Jeremy Irons...instead you'll have to settle for a photo. And if you're good...my red shoes that you couldn't keep off of your feet in London...

6:30am

Off to work...on yellow feet...

Favorites...

My favorite brooch, with my favorite orange, together with some favorite flowers from my walk home.

We Haven't Forgotten About You...

No, we have not. Hello, Anthropologie... I usually don't look at the site for a while so that when I do I'm overwhelmed with new exciting things...Like all of these.

Something about these images strike me as very French.

And I'm in a very French mood lately... I'm reading the novel 'Suite Francaise' by Irene Nemirovsky. I'm half way through and not wanting it to end. It's a story that follows the lives of various different people from all walks of life as they flee Paris during WWII. At the same time, I'm been researching my Fashion of the 1940s book. Very inspiring indeed.

While I wish I could have the grace and chic style of a French woman, it will be tough here... Just walking to the train station in order to get to the archive today, I sweat all over my clothes, my hair blown every which way and still managed to blister my feet in my 'comfortable shoes'. Ah yes, it will take a very long time to be fabulous...

For now I'll enjoy looking at these shoes.

Saturday Blues and Yellows...

This weekend we didn't do much of anything except enjoy each others company after our 3 weeks apart. We also managed to take advantage of the last few beach days of the year...

Feeling Fall-y

Even though the weather is feeling more summer than fall, I'm breaking out the new boots and thick tights....

Christmas with Etsy

So while I may have had a rough start with ordering from Etsy (silly me couldn't figure out the whole paypal thing...) I'm all for it. Lovely Sarah gave me that gift certificate that I bought that amazing clutch with, and now my friend Meghan has the cutest shop, Flibbertygibbits. The most perfect monsters and adorable hats. I'd also like to point out that the little munchkin modeling them is her son. Love!!! So I say, this Christmas, I'm going to be ahead of my game (not rushing the week before christmas looking for the perfect gifts...) and I'm going to buy from Etsy, and of course creative friends.
