Girly

Last night I had a great dinner with 6 lovely ladies in the city. I had such a good time (although it was cut a bit short...darn CalTrain schedule) I'm so happy to be back and be able to see so many interesting people and spend time with them. Cheers to that!

Shiny Shiny...

There was a bit of a minor freak out this morning in our household... I couldn't get the internets to work. After a bit of foot stomping and holding in of tears, my hero husband fixed it by, um, unplugging the connection and ahem, plugging it back in. Well done. All is well now and we can enjoy some sparkly jewels...

Our Weekend of Martinis and Rain.

This weekend we snooped around Palo Alto and tried to avoid the rain. It was relaxing and we managed to cross a few things off of our to-do list (which I love doing...) We watched the Oscars last night with martinis made in our new glasses from Crate & Barrel. The glass on ice glass does an amazing job of keeping the drink cold. Highly recommended. After a weekend full of rain, I can see the blue sky peeking out this morning, let's hope it stays here... (oops, spoke too soon, the grey is back. drats)

Stepping Up and Out

Today will be a busy day filled with many errands. One of those will be buying a new camera...I'm very excited about that. No more reaching through old iphoto folders...I'll now be able to take new fun photos. Get ready...

Thinking of Spring

Although it's still February, there are flowers out everywhere; daffodils, flowering bushes and beautiful cherry blossom trees. It's been raining and a bit chilly most of the time, but I'm still feeling the excitement of approaching warm weather...
It's very strange to be here and not feel in the back of my mind that we'll be flying back to Israel. We went to the supermarket yesterday and I knew what everything was...it was all written in English! I think it will take a few weeks for this to all settle in. We'll be happy to be back here with our friends and family, but then will miss Israel and the adventure that the two us had. When I lived in India, it took me so long to adjust back to life in the US, however, here I haven't had that...yet?

Back

After a great weekend in San Francisco where we enjoyed a fabulous wedding, we have settled into our temporary housing. Tomorrow will be spent looking for cars, a place to live, and I'm sure I'll be able to fit in some shoe time as well. Of course.

And That's it...

The movers came on Monday and worked in a whirlwind of tape and cardboard boxes. By 3pm Erik and I were alone in a completely empty apartment. We fly to the US at 5am tomorrow morning, so we'll be checking out of the hotel at 2am. ick. Once we're settled in a bit more this weekend I'll have some better posts, but until then I'll pretty much be in transit. I really can't believe that we lived here in Israel for a year and 8 months. It seems like a dream. I'm glad I had this blog it was (besides Erik) the only constant thing from start to finish. It provided the perfect way to keep in touch with people, to keep me busy, and to hold all of my memories. Even in times when I was feeling so down, I didn't think I could feel worse, I'd pick myself up and try to find something inspiring to blog about, or go to one of the blogs I read daily for inspirational pick-me-ups.
Thank you for visiting this blog and for experiencing this all with me through my photos and words. I'll keep the blog up, however it will now be about my adventures and inspiring thoughts from San Francisco.

Nothing to do with Fashion...

I think (and I could be wrong... I'm no good at maths) tomorrow, erik and I will have been married for half a year! I often look at our photos, and think to myself, Wow... that was SUCH a great fun time. Everyone was so happy and had a lot of fun, and I think that was what was so important to me; that everyone had the most perfect fun time.

Well, this wasn't my wedding, but a wedding the weekend after mine that I was a bridesmaid at, and as you can see, my family and I had the best time ever...weddings are the best... and Erik, Konrad and I have the pleasure of attending one next weekend in San Francisco.

Orange You Glad...

Happy Friday!

Thursday Brights

One week from today, my adventure in Israel will come to an end. In a way, it's probably for the best that we're leaving in the winter as opposed to the summer. It would be too difficult to part with the most perfect summer beach days I've ever had (besides Woods Hole, of course). I'll leave you with some marvelous colors.

go on the boat shipment, the air shipment, and my
suitcase....decisions, decisions, decisions....

A little bit of sadness mixed with a little bit of happiness.

If all goes according to plan (which it rarely does) the movers will be
packing up our apartment next Monday and we'll be flying on Thursday.
So soon. It's a very strange feeling that I'm having now. Part of me wants it all to hurry up...for the past month I thought we were leaving 'in two weeks' and then that deadline would shift. While I'm happy that this is moving along, I have to make sure that I enjoy this last week. However, I feel like there is a small bit of me has already left; it left as soon as I learned we were cutting our time here short. I know that next Thursday will creep up so quickly, and I'll feel another mix of emotions- happiness to be going back to family, friends, familiarity, but also sadness that we're leaving this place that was our home for a year and 8 months. I'm sure a lot of the reflection will happen once we're back and removed from the situations, so for now I should enjoy every last bit here. I really will try.

Not Such a Great Photo...(so I added some pretty sparkles)

These are my new boots. This photo was taken with Erik's phone, so it's not the worlds best... You can get the idea and I've added the sparkles photo to distract. distract! distract!

Fuchsia and Purple

Bringing a bit of brightness to your Monday. According to weather.com it's supposed to be 82 this Thursday...that brightens my day...

*also...I may be able to borrow a camera this week...I've felt SO lost without mine. I mean, how am I supposed to post my new perfect boots???

Sunday Sails

When we lived in California, we would usually sail on Sundays. It was a perfect way to end the weekend. This Sunday, however, it's raining outside, and I'm in Erik's office putting binders into boxes. Hmmmm It is going quickly though, some may even say it's sailing along. snort. I had to...
