Officially Homeless

So last night we completely moved out. It was like night and day from 7 am to 7pm. I have never been so exhausted! We stayed at a local hotel last night and got SO much done today, dmv, Israeli Consulate, AAA for international drivers license, bank accounts changed. Now we are in the city and decided to be complete tourists.

I'm the large one in the middle.

Now we are at the Hotel Griffon, keeping all Harry Potter comments aside, we checked into a dungeon. seriously. we went back down to the front desk. I'm pretty easy going, but even i was having trouble breathing and keeping calm. Now we have been upgraded to a wonderful room and are about to go the ferry building for some wine. Yay!

eek!

This is how it looks now. yikes

Our feathered friends from the lagoon came to help as well.

the movers are here!

We have about 6 guys here packing stuff faster than i've ever seen. This is great... but then part of me is like, WAIT NO! the bikes are coming, or NO that box of coffee makers and lamps is for storage! I had better sit back and relax that the stressful part is almost over... now I just have to move to Israel. ha! snort.

We'll be in a hodge podge of hotels until we fly out on monday, but I'll keep throwing out updates.

east coast love

Here are a few photos from the trip. We had 2 weddings, 2 bike rides, tons of food and wine, a quick Chaffinch Island trip, live music, hours of dancing, tons of cheese, and plenty of backyard relaxing. I've just had 45 minutes on the phone to Sprint so i'm ready to get out of the house.

chugging along

The movers come tomorrow, and I have to say, I think we're in a good place. So good of a place that I treated myself to the latest issue of Selvedge Magazine. It is such a wonderful, wonderful magazine; the British ones usually are. I can't live without Living Etc, British Elle Decoration, British Vogue and Elle, and now i have a favorite French one, Marie Claire Idees. I can't read French, but I can still drool over photographs. Anyway, I'll post some photos of my east coast trip after I've made a huge run to Salvation Army, called Sprint, packed some suitcases and um... looked again at my new magazine. hee

east coast

I heart the east coast so much!!!! We've been here since tuesday night and I never want to leave! Everything is so green and springy. I'm about to go on a bike ride but I can't get the bicycle pump to work, so I may just give up and go to the beach. eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

break for shoes

How can i get things done with distractions like this

yikes

armadillo dogs

I think I might need one of these when we move.... it was the funniest little creature I have ever seen. This will be short because I'm actually really starting to freak out about moving and the amount of stuff we have to pack, do, sell. Our whole house looks like someone picked it up, shook it, and then dropped it. There is crap everywhere. I'm going to attempt to tackle the kitchen right now. Hopefully I will make it out of there without injuries or tears.

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Santa Rosa filled with friends, oysters, babies, and hairless chihuahuas. More photos to come tomorrow when I am well rested. weeeeeeeeeeeeee

art in the east

If you east coasters are around new haven for the next week, check out this art show it is incredible. Apparently they sold ELEVEN paintings on opening night. Isn't it so weird that I have the same name as one of the artists?? I mean, how likely is that?? It's not like I'm related either... because that would be nepotism. and I don't do that.

Still packing...

Well, I hate to be boring, but yes, I'm still packing. But I'd really just like to take a bike ride. Luckily, the loverly loverly bike is coming with me to the holy land!! What I would ideally like to do is ride around in obnoxiously adorable dresses and have loaves of bread and wild flowers in the front basket. So when people ask, "What will you do in Israel?" I can say, well, my bike is coming, so OBVIOUSLY I'm going to ride around in obnoxiously adorable dresses and have loaves of bread and wild flowers in the front basket. I mean, wouldn't you?

Moving Shmoving

The only thing worse than moving is temporarily moving. What comes with us, what goes into storage. What if I NEED my mini pink teacups? Can I live without my black buckled heels for "1-2 years"?? I suppose it's somewhat liberating to move so freely. And will be like Christmas when we come back and open everything up again...there, see i'm thinking positively. ha.

On another note, I'm totally stalking this dress

Then again, it's one more thing to pack...

My First Post, ahem, part 2.

I had just written a whole entry, and then (as the title suggests) i lost it. I'm still getting the hang of this. Anyway, this is a place for me to keep in contact with everyone I will miss when we move in 2 weeks (eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!) from California to Israel. This will also be a place where i can post all the amazing fashions that I'm loving at the moment. After working in the fashion industry for 6 years, I'd like to keep my research skills in tact. Really, it has nothing to do with me wanting to look at clothes, it's all about the profession. umm huh. I hope you visit often and enjoy what I have to say and shoe, I mean show.
