Oh Buoy

I have one week left in the states and feel as though i have so much to do! I have another wedding this Saturday, so that should be fun. We also had one last Saturday which was incredibly fun as well; I'm doing research... BUT!! I found a place for our wedding! Hurray!!! I'm going to look at it again today, and meet with a caterer. I think that the more I get figured out now will result in less stress when I'm back in Israel. But for now I'm trying to enjoy every last second I have here on the cape...

even though it's been poopy weather...

In Your Favor

I picked up a copy of Martha Stewart Weddings today. It is the color issue and it is amazing. I'm all giddy from looking at the photos. These are some fun ideas for guest favors from the website.

Garden Colors

The colors are so rich here.

Everything feels so rustic, laid back, colorful.

We may be making some progress on the wedding planning.

There is a house that I'm hoping to see tomorrow that would be great. However, I won't get my hopes up just yet...

Planning

I have quite a bit of planning to do for the wedding while I'm home, and quite honestly, it's stressing me out. I don't even know where to start! One of my best friends just got engaged yesterday!!!

My brother and I were the first people to find out as we saw them right after it happened, which was very exciting. She is also going to plan a cape wedding next summer. I'm hoping that her excitement is contagious and will quell any of my anxieties.

So much excitement, I just wish Erik were here : (

Wellies

We've had a bit of rain here lately. These would be perfect.

We did it!!

We all finished the race yesterday!! it was a lot of fun... a little painful, but fun. It's 7 miles from Woods Hole to Falmouth Heights, running along the ocean. My time was a little more that I was hoping, but I finished without stopping; that's good enough for me. I spent the rest of the day telling myself that i could now eat or drink whatever i wanted. And i did just that.

Oh I Love Woods Hole...

We're here!!!! after a train ride and then a car ride, we made it! i love the first drive into the town, the brilliant greens, blue hydrandeas, orange lillies... We went for a quick swim as soon as we got here. It was a bit ( a LOT) colder than the water I've lately gotten used to. eek! This summer my parents brought Vlad to the cottage. It's so nice to have a little kittle kattle to play with...

Today it's raining so we have some thrift store shopping planned and some house organizing as we have quite a few people staying here tonight... oh Woods Hole!

Hot New York

We spent a very hot day walking around the city on wednesday.

It was SO good to be back in New York.

Back in NYC

I made it to New York. It took a total of 24 hours from door to door, but i made it. We went out for a great dinner here in Brooklyn.
Seared scallop salad....

I was fast alsleep by 9:45 and slept the night through... maybe it is good to not sleep on the plane... This morning I woke up to loud crashings and lights... a tremendous thunder storm! i haven't been in a thunder storm in so long. They didn't have this kind in San Francisco. And I'm thinking of my little monkey in Israel. I wish he could have been here too, he loves a good thunder storm.

I hope the apartment isn't too quiet for him without my constant -i mean CONSTANT, chitter chatter...hee at least it looks peaceful.

The Perfect Evening

yes please....

Almost Gone!

I leave tonight... my flight is at 1:40 AM...sweet. It's funny how incredibly different everything looks in Israel compared to the beaches on the east coast in the US. The browns are different, the greens, the blues.... even the plants that grow by the water.

The air is different, and the light as well, more grey and foggy over there...

It's such a weird feeling to think that tomorrow i'll be in NY. I feel like I'm so far away that it can't possibly still exist.

This was a struggle I went through when i moved to California, I assumed that everything in New York would have just frozen; stayed still until I came back for a visit. But it didn't; life went on, people went on. In a way I suppose it's kind of refreshing. If things didn't change then it would seem as though you didn't make a difference.

Back!

We have the internet! Hurray!!! It's funny because the company that does the cable and internet is called HOT. So today i was paid a visit by the Hot Guy. ha! snort. These past few days were spent unpacking, cleaning, and running.... and missing email.

We found an old chair that someone had thrown away. So last week in the mid-day heat, I re-sanded it and then stained it. I felt so...so... home improvement-y. I taught myself to count to 10 in Hebrew, read more about Israel's history, did some watercolor paintings, and color coded all of my socks.... it's amazing what you can get done without the distractions of the internet and tv.
This past weekend we went to a bar near us, right on the beach.

We've also discovered a new favorite pastime; watching the sunset over the ocean from our roof.
(ahem... my mother so kindly reminded me that it is in fact a sea, not the ocean...oops)

Friday marked 2 years since I moved from New York to CA to live with Erik. So of course that warranted an outside lunch.
