Old Jaffa Flea Market Part ll

It turns out I wasn't the only one regretting not buying more at the flea market. Erik had his eye on a colored window pane from Belgium and was still thinking about it the next day. We had also seen a nice coffee table and after getting home realized it would have been perfect. So Friday morning we made the trek back to Tel Aviv.

The parking gods much have been smiling on us because we found a spot right next to the store where our table (thank god!) was ( still there!). Erik's window pane was also still there...

we started to wonder what kind of a turnover there people get on their pieces. It was odd because there was so much junk... but yet they still wouldn't budge on the price of certain things.

We are very happy with the table...

I also picked up a few things...

it wasn't until i got home that i realized there was a, um...theme...

Lotta Jansdotter

There is a great piece in the latest Blueprint Magazine on Lotta Anderson's (of Lotta Jansdotter Designs) Brooklyn home. I can't find Blueprint anywhere here, so a magical fairy sent it to me (thank you mummy!!). I love her mix of color and pattern in her textiles, ceramics, and prints.

The look is modern, but with a very comfortable, easy feel. I'm also loving her 'clipboard collages'. What a creative approach to have everchanging mood boards, or simple reminders. She has a book 'Simple Sewing' which is on my wish list. Apparently her studio in Brooklyn is open to the public most Saturdays. That would definitely be a fun inspiring trip.

Old Jaffa Flea Market

We went into Tel Aviv yesterday, which is always a treat for me. However parking is a nightmare...ah well. We went to Old Jaffa to the flea market there. It was great. So great, that I was so excited by everything that I forgot to get my camera out. Silly girl. I also went home in a bit of a tizzy because everytime I saw something I liked, I would say, 'Ok, if I don't see anything else I like, I'll come back...' Of course by the time I did go back, the stalls were closing. Again, Ah well. I did, however pick up these 1960's juice glasses. We also went to Nachlat Benyamin which is where all of the fabric stores are (thank you Hagit!). I picked up some for the next quilt I want to make for my bed.

And also for some other fun projects.

Blues...

I'm stuck in a rut this week... just so cranky and moody. And MAJORLY mood swingy. Great. So much to the point that i'm annoying myself! I'm trying to run a lot and walk alot. That's been cheering me up, and I'm getting excited for the weekend.

We're going to a flea market tomorrow. I've been looking at my book, "Flea Market Style" by Emily Chalmers, it is so so inspiring. I recommend to everyone. I've also been looking at my fun vintage jewelry...

Going Around in Circles...

This morning I've been covering buttons and crocheting circles.... I'm not sure what they will end up being. hmmm

Long Weekend

We had a long weekend, 4 days. We went to a winery about 15 minutes from our apartment. It was really interesting, we went on a tour and saw how everything was done.

It's funny because when we were living in California, we would go wine tasting a lot... and well... we are here too! It was a lot of fun, but i'm tired and recovering now. I think this weekend we may go into Tel Aviv for the day. I need to find some fabric stores... And some relaxing time too...
