Simply Vera

Back to the theme of famous designers doing side projects with major companies, brings us to Simply Vera, Vera Wang for Kohls. I'm still not sure how I really feel about these collaborations having been at companies where other people came in. But I do love these home looks. Very crisp, clean, and spring-y.

Shoes and Good News!

These are the shoes I'm thinking of now... but enough of that. Konrad got into his first choice for grad school!!! Hurray!!! What a smart boy.... He got all the intelligent genes, I just got an obsession with jeans...

Target Love

On March 2nd, Target Go International will debut their latest collaboration with Jovovich -Hawk, the fashion line developed by Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk. It looks like there may be some fun pieces and interesting prints.

I was looking through the target website and there are so many cute things that I totally don't need, but of course want... thank god I'm as far from the store as I can get. When I lived in Ca, there was one on my way home from work...really dangerous...especially if you had a rough day. Not so dangerous because you'd spend a lot of money, but more because you will inevitably run out of space and be faced with the reality that one day you'll have to be dug out of your closet by the volunteer firemen and your obsession will be the talk of the town, providing animated banter for the anchors on the 5:00 news...

Surprise!

I had been called by Erik's secretary yesterday to make sure I would be home at 4:00 to receive a valentines delivery. So I waited for the doorbell to ring and when it did... my surprise was Erik! Home a day early! And brought me this lovely perfume. He knows I'm a sucker for packaging, and this this one of my favorite color combinations. Hurray!!! Although...because of the nasty jetlag this trip brings... he's been sleeping for the past 12 hours. So today we will go for a walk along the water and have a nice post-valentines day lunch. Fun!

Mango

I went for a walk this morning to the mall. It was quite brave of me as we've had the weirdest weather... one minute blue skies and then literally the next, downpour rain. But I managed to dodge the drops. I went into Mango and bought this yellow summer top. I want to wear it with mini navy shorts and white flats...everywhere had fun new spring clothes in bright yellows. I also spied some patent leather flats in bright green, blue, and yellow. Fun!

Done!

I finished my project today. Hurray!! Now 'someone' won't be able to blame me for stealing their quilt when I'm watching movies as I now have my own...

Madame Grès at FIT

The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York is currently having a show Madame Grès: Sphinx of Fashion. (February 2-April 19) I wish I could be there to see it. I had my second day working at the archive. It's funny because when you don't work for a while and then start again, you remember how tiring it can be! We spent the day cleaning one of the rooms and looking for particular pieces for when class begins next week. They had some amazing Madame Grès pieces...so beautiful. eeeeek I love it! It's ok that it's tiring because while I take a break I can gaze at the shoe wall....sigh....
