Perhaps I spoke too soon....

It Really Works!!

I'm not a make up person. I like it, and the packaging, but don't really wear it. I wear my trusty eyeliner and that's about it. However, I figured that for the wedding, I should perhaps step it up a bit, and what better to do so than with my Sephora giftcards. I ordered this Bare Escentuals loose powder. I had read about it and wanted to try... I never wear foundation or powder so thought it would be fun. It arrived today and WOW! it totally looked like someone airbrushed my face in Photoshop. I'm very pleased with the result. Bravo!

10 Day Weather Check

I was told that I wasn't allowed to look at this... I couldn't help it. But this is OK!!! I can deal with partly cloudy!! At least it's not 'Hurricane force winds with rain the size of marshmallows'. We are content.

Cape Shorts

I don't usually pay too much attention to mens fashion because... I prefer womens. But I have been ordering Erik some fun Cape Cod-y stuff from J. Crew. He has these coming and another pair as well. They should be arriving today, so everytime I hear a truck drive by the cottage, I jump up with excitement...only to then be met with something like Sullivan's Landscaping truck. Boo.

Flip You!

My wonderful fiance/husband-to-be-in-1&1/2-weeks, ordered and had delivered to me this awesomely perfect pink Flip Video. I've been playing with it all evening, running around the cottage videoing Konrad, Sarah, Sheila, and Len doing mundane things like, lighting the BBQ, playing guitar, and talking through the screen window while having a shower. It's pretty amazing... I'm almost positive I'm the next Scorsese....

I think most things have been figured out...I'm going to meet with the hairdresser this afternoon for a "consultation"...which I honestly think will be a waste of time. Seriously, she can throw it up any way, just because it's a wedding, they insist we chat before....ah well......we'll see....Perhaps now may be a fun time to go all Bridezilla out... that would be interesting...

Cooking Fun!

For my shower I received 2 gift cards to Williams-Sonoma, and I happened to be there today. Now, the reason I got gift cards was because we have no where to put anything until we move back to the states in a year, so the idea was that I would wait until then to buy anything. But... well, I'm me. And I can't wait. So I bought this Le Creuset French oven. Erik "out of curiosity" asked why I bought it now and I had no other answer except that the gift cards were burning a hole in my pocket and I was over-excited? Anyway... one more thing to keep in storage....oops.

Etsy Fun!

For my bridal shower I got all sorts of fun gift certificates, including one from lovely Sarah for the Etsy shop, Vernon Ave. I bought this amazing clutch... I'm SOOOO excited for it to arrive. I'm going to wear it to my rehearsal dinner. But I have to say... this is the second thing I've bought off of Etsy and I've found both experiences to be so difficult. I put in my credit card number and then would keep getting bounced back, so when I thought I had paid for something, I actually hadn't... So I ended up feeling like such an ass. But in the end, all worked out. Hurray!

Wanting...Perhaps not Needing...

I really like this dress... it's sitting in my shopping cart at Anthropologie while I mull it over.... We'll see what happens. In the meantime, I'm about to send off a bunch of brunch invitations that I've been addressing here in the coffee shop. It's much more fun to get stuff done surrounded by coffee and fun music. Although, someone let a Mariah Carey song slip in...naughty....

The Shower!!! (and it didn't rain!!!)

It was such a fun fun weekend. I think I may be the luckiest girl in the world; I really do have the best friends anyone could ever ask for. Of course I cried a ton, and also ate a lot. I got some really fun gift cards that I can't wait to use. (because we're in Israel, we won't be doing wedding gifts, just cards, etc). My maid of honor, Katherine, outdid herself. I can't believe all of the amazing planning she had been doing... Isn't this the best idea for favors??

Recovering...

I am now recovering after the bachelorette party and the 2 showers. Poor Konrad had to leave the area for all of this female fun....sorry! Photos will be up tomorrow. I'm now sitting on the deck with 4 of my bridesmaids drinking the rest of the wine... Wish you were here!!!!

Animal Prints and Just Plain Fun...

Some perfect shoes from Zappos. I really like some of the ones below, but have been so busy that I haven't even thought about shoes recently. Everytime my grandmother calls, she asks if I have any new shoes, I have to reply with "oh... shoes....gosh...no..."

Tomorrow I'm taking Konrad to T.J.Maxx or Marshalls to get him his groomsman blazer, so maybe I'll see some shoes there. You never know with those places...last January I found my wonderful Marc Jacobs heels. But for now I'm going to have a glass of wine and not think about itching... I cut down a tree for my parents in the front yard, and well, I'm not that big, and trees are... I fell into a patch of poison ivy. I get paranoid just LOOKING at it, so you can imagine how I reacted. But I've showered and have crossed my fingers...new shoes would make me better!!!

The New Dress

I bought this dress yesterday and am very excited about it. It's from here. Although... looking at this photo, I think mine is in different colors? and looks much better in real life. Today I have a meeting with the tent people, calling the bakery people, and making all of the groomsmens boutonnieres.... But perhaps tonight, there will be a fun shoe post. We haven't had one in a while....

Missing my girls, but will see them next weekend for the bachelorette party and my shower... yikes.
This weekend will be filled with a ton of fun as well... perhaps some photos will follow. Who doesn't love a good 4th of July costume. Certainly not I.

Good Idea? or Bad...

Katherine and I are thinking about wearing false eyelashes for my wedding. For a couple of reasons... One, we barely have our own eyelashes, and two, we don't want mascara running down our faces. Although... what's worse... raccoon eyes, or a run away eyelash that looks like a catapillar running across your face... I'm not sure.

Wedding Stuff.... and a fun dress!!

This is where we will have the ceremony and the reception, I'm very excited. I'm slowly getting things checked off of my list. I found that I've been jittery since I've been home, so unfortunately have had to switch to decaf. Lame.

But this afternoon I've decided to sit on the back deck, go for a run, have a martini and think about whether of not I want to buy this amazing pucci-esque dress I saw yesterday. Oh and of course I'll also think about my Erik who I miss so much already and it's only been 2 weeks!
