Part Two: Jordan
We took a day trip to Jordan. Despite being on an organized tour, I enjoyed it. The landscape was so interesting,
driving past the Bedouin herding their animals, camels taking a break in the hills,
sheep crossing the street, small children waving at the bus...
And then we arrived at Petra (which we learned is pronounced Peetra) We began the long walk down the siq to the treasury.
There were horses and carriages taking people down the twisting path.
We then came to a clearing, and there it was, peeking out of a crack in the rocks...
Pretty amazing, huh?
Our guide fed some water to one of the camels down there...hee
Little Bedouin children selling jewelry...
Some more animals...
Everything was incredible...
After a lunch and then a quick tour around Aqaba, we then left the country to go back to Israel. It was such a good trip. I'm ready to do it again.
After that was our last day in Eilat which was spent on the beach, snorkling in the Red Sea.... we were a bit spoiled, weren't we!

Great pictures! I especially love the one of the horse and carriage. I think all horse and carriage pictures should be taken in sepia....he he he.
